Elle s\u2019inscrit dans une d\u00e9marche d&rsquo;\u00e9cologie sociale plus ample dont le sujet est le suivant&nbsp;: dans la perspective d&rsquo;une crise \u00e9cosyst\u00e9mique grave et durable, quels seraient les fondements de la r\u00e9silience \u00e9cologique parmi les classes d&rsquo;\u00e2ge \u00e9lev\u00e9 ? Y sont discut\u00e9es deux th\u00e9ories tr\u00e8s en vogue en ce moment, celle du vieillissement de la population mondiale et celle de la possibilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une crise syst\u00e9mique majeure. L&rsquo;un des aspects de l&rsquo;accroissement d\u00e9mographique concerne la th\u00e9orie du vieillissement de la population. Elle constitue un fait mondial, indiscutable et totalement in\u00e9dit. Mais ses pr\u00e9misses et son impact m\u00e9ritent d&rsquo;\u00eatre discut\u00e9s, surtout si le vieillissement mondial est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme une menace et un fl\u00e9au&nbsp;! Je crois utile au contraire de se demander si la situation ne pourrait pas \u00eatre envisag\u00e9e sous d\u2019autres biais&nbsp;: quels facteurs culturels pourraient influencer (et moduler) la compr\u00e9hension des impacts de la crise parmi les populations \u00e2g\u00e9es&nbsp;? Ces derni\u00e8res ont-elles des atouts sp\u00e9cifiques pour y faire face&nbsp;? Dans leur soci\u00e9t\u00e9, quelle part prendraient-elles dans la r\u00e9solution de la crise&nbsp;? &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je pr\u00e9sente ci-dessous quelques exemples issus du collationnement de mes donn\u00e9es anthropologiques. J&rsquo;\u00e9voquerai quelques figurations de la vieillesse et les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes observables dans diverses aires culturelles. J&rsquo;ai compar\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es actuelles avec ce que j&rsquo;avais recueilli lors d&rsquo;une recherche d&rsquo;\u00e9thologie humaine effectu\u00e9e en 1992 sur ce th\u00e8me de la vieillesse comportementale<a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>. Les pr\u00e9suppos\u00e9s n\u00e9gatifs sur le vieillissement de la population existaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans la litt\u00e9rature sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e des ann\u00e9es 70 et 80, pr\u00e9sentant la vieillesse en termes de d\u00e9clin programm\u00e9&nbsp;! Ils ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 nourrir des pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s courants dans l&rsquo;opinion qui n&rsquo;ont fait que s&rsquo;exacerber et se radicaliser sous la pression de l&rsquo;\u00e9volution d\u00e9mographique. Aujourd&rsquo;hui comme hier, les rem\u00e8des miracles propos\u00e9s me laissent dubitative\u2026 Ainsi, je d\u00e9plore particuli\u00e8rement le fleurissement mondial de la Silver Economy dont les ramifications s&rsquo;infiltrent jusque dans les couloirs minist\u00e9riels et nos institutions \u00e9tatiques. Elle v\u00e9hicule l&rsquo;assignation des \u00e2g\u00e9s au mod\u00e8le \u00e9conomique ambiant: qu&rsquo;ils ne travaillent plus, soit, mais qu&rsquo;au moins ils contribuent au travail des autres en consommant au maximum, des biens et des loisirs d&rsquo;abord, puis des services dits \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la personne\u00a0\u00bb en tous genres, dont le co\u00fbt va croissant sans que la qualit\u00e9 et l\u2019empathie relationnelle suivent toujours !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les \u00e9l\u00e9ments pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s ici \u00e0 titre d\u2019exemples sont fort partiels. Mais ils mettent en \u00e9vidence les limites \u00ab&nbsp;essentialistes&nbsp;\u00bb du concept de vieillesse. D\u2019autre part, ils permettent de souligner la combativit\u00e9, les facult\u00e9s adaptatives des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es et certaines forces de r\u00e9silience qui leurs sont propres, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es dans des circonstances de crise. \u00c0 l\u2019heure o\u00f9 la menace du vieillissement de la population mondiale est sonn\u00e9e comme le tocsin, il est essentiel d\u2019insister sur ces qualit\u00e9s positives afin d\u2019offrir une vision plus \u00e9quitable du \u00ab&nbsp;continent gris&nbsp;\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Clara Wajs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> Un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 de cet article est paru dans la revue \u00ab&nbsp;\u00c9cologie &amp;
