Elle a men\u00e9 toute sa carri\u00e8re d\u2019enseignante et de chercheuse au sein de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Burundi. Au c\u0153ur de la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration se trouvaient le jeu des tambours, ainsi qu\u2019une s\u00e9lection de chants et danses parmi les soixante-quatre \u00e9pithalames que j\u2019ai collect\u00e9s, consign\u00e9s par \u00e9crit dans&nbsp;deux tomes, annot\u00e9s, traduits en fran\u00e7ais, transcrits sur port\u00e9es musicales, analys\u00e9s et comment\u00e9s. Purs joyaux de l\u2019oralit\u00e9, les \u00e9pithalames offrent une remarquable synth\u00e8se de l\u2019art vocal burundais en empruntant \u00e0 tous les genres et \u00e0 tous les styles de la tradition. Ils composent un vibrante parure de chants et de danses qui accompagne et relate les sept \u00e9tapes de ce jour de f\u00eate extr\u00eamement codifi\u00e9. Les \u00e9pithalames (chants et danses) sont ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s en l&rsquo;honneur des mari\u00e9s par les membres du cort\u00e8ge nuptial. L&rsquo;ensemble des \u00e9pithalames constitue un r\u00e9cit global de l&rsquo;histoire du mariage traditionnel au Burundi, de la vie de couple, de la condition de la femme et des exigences de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.editions-harmattan.fr\/livre-deux_soeurs_deux_coeurs_contes_du_burundi_barbara_ndimurukundo_kururu-9782296004818-21322.html\"><em>Deux s\u0153urs, deux c\u0153urs. D\u00e8s l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de raison, leur m\u00e8re les habituait progressivement aux petits travaux domestiques.
